Strength Training

Carlos pushes the Progressive-Resistance Philosophy when training his clients. The more weights one lifts, the stronger one will be. Carlos leads his training sessions with the push-pull principal.

Conditioning and Flexibility

Carlos adds other forms of conditioning into his strength training routine with his clients. Conditioning will yield the person to not only open up their joints, but also will lend to an increase of flexibility. TRX, Battling Ropes, and Kettlebell are all other forms of conditioning that will help overall physical fitness.

Carlos is RKC Certified in Kettlebell, He also is highly trained in TRX, and has worked with Battling Ropes master Hurricane Ingrid and inventor John Brookfield.

Nutrition

Carlos evaluates each of his clients differently. Based on each person's goals and body type, he suggests different nutrition plans that are geared for each individual. Carlos suggests eating about 4 to 6 times a day, varying your protein to carbs to fat intake. One's daily caloric intake should include: 40%-50% of protein, 30%-40% of carbs, and 10% to 20% of fat.

I started training with Carlos about 2 years ago. I had always thought of myself as in shape, I play tennis and do cardio at the gym but after training with Carlos I realized how out of shape I actually was. Carlos constantly pushes me to challenge myself and always motivates me to reach my goals. He is very attentive during workouts to ensure you are completing the exercise with correct form. Carlos has improved not only my strength but my overall health. I have lost 15 pounds since training with him and kept the weight off. I have also felt myself get stronger and improve in the areas I wanted to specifically target. He put together a complete program specific to my needs and desired results, which included nutrition advice along with workout guidance. I keep training with Carlos because he pushes me to work harder and continues to always challenge me with my workouts.

I was a tennis player at St. Joe’s University when I began training with Carlos. I realized that my weight-lifting routine was not designed to yield the best results for my body type, which is what motivated me to start training. While I was in college and playing tennis full time, we focused on doing workouts to help improve my fitness ability on the tennis court. As my fitness goals have changed during the years, so has our workouts. That is one aspect I have always valued from training with Carlos. He constantly is checking in on my physical goals, and through discussion, we alter my workouts to meet my current body goals. Not only has training with Carlos made me much stronger as an athlete, but he also has improved my mental toughness.

I've been working with Carlos as my trainer for over eight years and have benefited from this work in many ways. Carlos supports all of his clients in maximizing their health and fitness, and now that I am in my early 50s I can say that I am in the best shape of my life. He is an inspiring example of living without limits, and continuing to have bold goals at every age. Though Carlos is a former professional athlete, he makes it clear that we all have greatness within us that can be accessed and expressed. My life is richer for having Carlos in my corner.
